A documentary film director came to me to help her design a newsletter and fundraising pitch deck.


Film Director Katie Dellamaggiore came to me with a Word doc of notes and a folder of film stills, looking to turn her ideas into a cohesive voice and visual identity for a fundraising campaign and newsletter for her award-winning documentary film.

  • To help increase engagement, I brought in a strong typographic hierarchy, punchy, modern colors, and pulled artwork from the film that fit the content.

  • I helped her find a tone stayed warm and human, while the structure kept everything clear, focused, and urgent.

  • I laid out a strategy funnel that spoke to two audiences: supporters and potential partners. We wanted to build excitement and share new wins, but mostly keep readers from hitting that “unsubscribe” button.

Fundraising Pitch Deck

A text I received from the director when she caught a first glimpse of the pitch deck:

“OMG!!!! The deck is GORGEOUS … the entire thing is so sharp and eye candy! Like, how can someone not get excited?”
